How Can swollen Tonsils Along With Throat Pain Be Treated?

Hi there! The inside of my mouth, the tonsils, are very swollen. I had gone out with a few friends a few nights ago but it only started to become sore last night. My throats hurts when I am in the process of lying down and I am unsure what to do about this all. Thank you, Jay.

Hi.

It looks like the symptoms of swollen tonsils and inside of the mouth with throat pain is due to the fact that you are suffering from Bacterial throat infection also known as Strep throat and the symptoms of throat pain that is Pharyngitis along with inflamed tonsils that is Tonsillitis seems to be due to it..

For confirmation consult an Emergency room or an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and if needed to confirm investigations like Thorat swab culture can help in diagnosis..

You can be advised a course of antibiotics like Augmentin, anti inflammatory painkillers like Ibuprofen, doing warm saline gargles, steam inhalation and using a humidifier in your room can help..
You can also suck throat lozenges, chew Vitamin C pellet and avoid spicy and chilled foods..

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
